The altimeter is broken, it doesn't show 0ft when I'm at an airport.

The altimeter in airplanes is typically setup so that it shows the altitude relative to the sea level. This is called the altitude MSL (Mean Sea Level).
The altitude relative to the terrain is called AGL (Above Ground Level) and is shown with radio altimeters or by changing the altimeter pressure settings which is something we don't support yet.
